Butoh Dancer for Halloween?

Butoh (sometimes written butô) is the collective name for a diverse range of techniques and motivations for dance inspired by the Ankoku-Butoh movement. It typically involves playful and grotesque imagery performed in white-body makeup but there is no set style. Its origins have been attributed to Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno. (Wikipedia.org)

I checked out the images of Butoh perfomances...they are very dark, grotesque and disturbing.

The first butoh piece was Kinjiki (Forbidden Colours), by Tatsumi Hijikata. Based on the novel of the same name by Yukio Mishima, the piece explored the taboo of homosexuality and ended with the smothering of a live chicken between the legs of Yoshito Ohno (Kazuo Ohno's son) and Hijikata chasing Yoshito off the stage in darkness. (Wikipedia.org)

So how about being a Butoh dancer for Halloween!

The blockbuster down the street does not carry ‘Amores Perros’, which I have seen already-perhaps more than once? They have all the Hispanic gangbanger movies but no ‘Amores Perros’! I say in my Spanish accent. Still the Mexican clerk says ‘no, we no have’. Grrrrr.

So Alejandro, you’re back, eh? So Guillermo Arriaga, the screenwriter and yourself had some issues of ‘creativity at the workplace’. It happens, but as a Director you are the one who brought the characters to life-your style, your cuts, etc. Ahhhh to direct and work with a screenwriter hand in hand. But shit happens in the collaborative process.

Guillermo wrote ‘Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada’ which is directed by Tommy Lee Jones first film-now that’s what I call a collaboration. Can’t wait for the headlines to read: Tommy Lee throws Guillermo off the set or roof.

So ‘Babel’, all was well until I saw Cate & Brad headline the film, I hope they can prove themselves worthy of working with Gael. He’s dog years ahead in acting compared to them. Sorry.

Opening this Friday in New York.

DJ Kaori

Ok so I deejayed wayy back in the day-but it just never fell thru. I always had respect for female DJ's since you don't see them as much-last one I saw was at a clothing store downtown nyc-I think off Prince Street-forgot the name-damn.

Eating in NYC

Me love this place that I've been going to for years:) I was happy to see it previewed in NY Times. This is an ideal place to drink drunk-yes drink drunk and eat. My usual hot sake and everything on the menu is delicious. Sit at the bar to watch them cook it up! Don't forget the big greeting when you enter as well-oh now I'm getting depressed-there aren't any great restaurants in Long Island, where I currently reside-or just haven't found 'em yet.

I miss Yakidori-this ones for you.

Re-Decorating

Ok so now I know why I'm so anal about keeping things tidy and clean at home.
Solution: set up your home like a museum!

These pictures have motivated me to re-do everything in my home! Can't wait!

Love the painting on the far left corner with the Parrot.

A place in the middle of a farm! Brilliant!

Dog

My hubby loves this dog. Like owner like dog;) but I'm slowly starting to like it as well minus the drooling (which I've heard they can operate on their glands to stop the drools). Wherever we go he has to stop and take a pic of this 'type' of dog-what is it? The British Bulldog?-something like that. Here's to you hubby.
